Rob D. Dros

More than thirty-five years of practical experience

Dros Nautic depends on the practical experience in the water sports business of Rob D. Dros, among which more than 15 years as a specialised expert in pre-purchase inspections. The company for surveys and valuations of small yachts, working ships and house-boats was founded in 1994.

Rob D. Dros is certified as Hiswa/NVEP Qualified Yacht Surveyor, EMCI-certified surveyor and Register Assessor by the Foundation “Verenigd Register van Taxateurs (VRT)” (Dutch Valuers Registry).

Education and training

After graduating from the Netherlands Maritime Academy (Hogere Zeevaartschool) and completing various ANWB/KNWW water sports training courses, Rob Dros attended several specific technical trainings, such as the training for certificate Marine Gas Safety pleasure yachts and applications yacht engines, yacht rigging, steel construction, aluminium construction, wood construction and GRP construction. Besides that he followed several courses from Hiswa and NVEP to keep up with current developments.

Rob D. Dros is EMCI certified Marine Mediator.

Publications

Safety and enjoying sailing are inextricably linked to hands-on knowledge of sailing, engine manoeuvring, handling instruments on board and safety and to carrying out small and large repairs. Knowledge transfer is guaranteed due to the long-time experience of Rob D. Dros. He is one of the authors of the well-known book Leidraad voor Zeilers. Several of his articles have been published in aquatic magazines such as YachtFocus Magazine and Yacht Vision.
